 | | 10" Non Beadlock Fronts | | The most innovative new material of the last decade is carbon fiber. Used in applications ranging from jet aircraft to Formula 1 race cars, carbon fiber is lighter yet stronger than aluminum or steel. The challenge with utilizing carbon fiber materials has been the costly manufacturing processes requiring significant skilled manual labor and complex curing heat cycles. In addition, some carbon fiber implementations have been "brittle" in that though, very strong, the material tends to shatter rather then bend or deform upon impact forces. HiPer Technology and DuPont have co-developed a new carbon fiber composite material which when combined with proprietary HiPer Technology molding processes, solves these challenges for many applications. The resulting products display the strength of carbon fiber (2.7 times stronger than aluminum), the manufacturability of molding resins (like Nylon) and allow lower cost manufacturing associated with molded "plastic" parts.
